The CEO’s Hidden Love Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires

Chapter 1738

Craig's vocabulary was always pretty limited-he never dressed up what he wanted to say.

"Ever since the day we got divorced, I haven't gone a single second without wanting to get back together," he blurted out.

Miles blinked, caught off guard by Craig's blunt honesty. Still, being a guy himself, he could see right through Craig's feelings for his sister.

"Yeah, but... that's really up to Abigail, you know? I can't make that call for her,” Miles replied, shrugging a little.

When Craig heard that, he just lowered his head and said nothing.

And suddenly, it hit Miles why Craig had launched into this awkward topic the second he saw him: Craig was down to his last family member in the world.

His son was living with Aurora now. No wonder Craig was aching for a sense of home especially tonight.

Miles sighed. "You know how Abby is. Once she makes up her mind, nobody can talk her out of it. She was stubborn as a mule when she decided to be with you in the first place-nobody could say a bad word about you back then. But now? She wanted the divorce, and honestly, I haven't seen her even consider getting back together these past few years. Even if I did bring it up, I doubt she'd listen."

Craig understood all of this. More than that, he knew he'd let his own insecurities ruin things with Aurora, tearing their little family apart. And even when they were together, he just couldn't shake that feeling of not being good enough.

If Aurora seemed happy-if she was smiling-he'd finally work up the courage to say a word or two. But if she looked stressed, Craig would vanish, keeping his distance.

After work, he'd sometimes just go stand by the street, hoping for a glimpse of Aurora's car as she drove home. That's how he'd been living all these years.

"Sorry," he muttered. "I shouldn't put you in this position."

Miles shook his head. "It's fine, man. I was mad at you back then for hurting Abby, sure. But now, seeing Elijah grow up... sometimes I think maybe a kid really does need both parents around. I don't remember much about when I was little, but I do know-life was happiest when Mom and Dad were both there."

Craig pressed his lips together, unable to argue. He'd made his own bed, hadn't he? Who else could he blame?

After a moment, Aurora walked over, her eyes darting between the two of them.noveldrama

"Hey, if you're done here, you should go be with Felicity," she told her brother "She's just found out she's pregnant, and her health isn't great right now. She needs you more than we do."

Miles glanced at Craig, then back at his sister Alright. I'll head home You stay with Craig, and don't worry about Elijah-Mom and Dad are watching him, and Felicity and I will help out, too."

Aurora nodded, waiting until her brother left before turning back. "Are you... okay?"

Craig's gaze lingered on her face. He opened his mouth to say something, but just then, Aurora's phone buzzed.

Because Craig was tall, he could see the caller ID just by glancing down.

Quentin.

"Aurora, you didn't come to the studio today. Are you feeling alright?" Quentin sounded concerned. Aurora usually stopped by the art studio no matter how busy she was.

"I'm fine,” Aurora said, “just had a few things to deal with."

"Anything serious? Want me to help?"

She didn't hesitate. "No, it's just something with my ex-husband. Nothing you

need to worry about."
