The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 786

The last time Dylan saw Noelle was at the Swift family residence. She had tried to threaten him with a phone recording, and of course, Dylan wasn't going to let her have her way. He had every intention to talk things out with her properly. But unfortunately, Noelle wouldn't listen.

During the struggle over the phone, she fell down the stairs. By the time the Swift family found her, blood had already pooled on the ground. But they didn't call the police. Instead, they helped Dylan load Noelle into a car.

Dylan had planned to hide her away somewhere. In fact, he had already arranged everything in advance. Even if Noelle hadn't been unconscious, he would have taken her away that night.

Once in the car, he transferred her to another vehicle in a spot out of the surveillance cameras' view. That car's destination was Leah's hometown. There, he had already arranged for someone to take care of Noelle.

He had everything perfectly planned, and by the time Hendrix returned to Coppersville, it would already be too late.

But Dylan never expected that the car would get into an accident along the way, and the driver died on the spot.noveldrama

According to the report he received, only the driver had died. Noelle, who should have been in the back seat, had vanished.

Dylan had initially thought she might have been thrown from the wreck. After all, the car had plunged off an overpass, and the driver's body hadn't been intact.

So, during this time, it wasn't just Hendrix searching for Noelle-Dylan had been looking, too. But the longer it dragged on, the slimmer the hope of finding her became.

Dylan had even started to believe he would never see her again.

The thought of that made his eyes redden. He knew he was despicable. He also knew his hands were filthy for employing all those underhanded tactics. But whatever sincerity he had left, he had given all of it to her.

He had truly wanted to be with her. So now, seeing her standing right in front of him, he was happier than anyone to know that she was alive.

He studied the woman before him carefully, about to ask what had happened to

her all this time when the woman called out timidly, "Hello, Mr. Pritchett."

The woman's voice was soft, her gaze at him shy but mostly fearful.

In that instant, Dylan realized it wasn't her!

The realization chilled him instantly

"Mr. Pritchett, I heard you are very fond of your ex-girlfriend. I happened to meet this woman recently, and I thought you might be pleased," the man said in a trembling voice.

The man hadn't expected Dylan to react this way and immediately he had misjudged the

situation. o

Dylan listened, then suddenly laughed. "Is that so? I guess I should thank you, then."

His words sounded polite, but there was no warmth in his voice.

The man opened his mouth to say more, but Dylan cut him off impatiently, "Is there anything else?"

The man immediately understood. He grinned at him, then turned and left.

The door clicked shut behind him.

Dylan slowly turned his gaze back to the woman. "What's your name?"

"I-I'm—"

Before she could finish, Dylan suddenly grabbed her hair and yanked her head back violently.
