The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2704

Other factors aside, pride matters more than anything else when a person gets rich, and Horace absolutely refused to be mocked as a coward.

"Don't worry about it. I have other arrangements in place," he said. He then told the middle-aged man to leave and called a mysterious number.

An hour later, Frank was speaking with the intern at his homestay cottage when her phone rang.

Taking it out and seeing an unfamiliar number, she knew right away that it was from the Mount Statera's management and turned on the speakers despite her curiosity as she answered.

"Aisling Walls, was it? Your name has a nice ring to it!" A playful, feminine voice giggled eerily from the other end.

"What's it to you?" Aisling snorted in annoyance. "Mess around, and I'll call the cops on you!"

The woman was not intimidated at all, even laughing icily. "Go on, but your parents will die if you do."

Aisling was stunned, shaking her head as she cried, "No, that's impossible... How could you know where I live?"

"Oh, please... Why wouldn't I? You're quite famous, and your personal details are basically available to the public."

Aisling yelled, "I'll make you pay if you hurt them!"

That was when Frank held up his own phone, having typed on the screen: Give me your address.

Aisling promptly typed it in, and Frank saw that by a stroke of luck, she was not a city journalist but within the county not far from here.

Turning to Jada and the others to protect Aisling, he left right away.

On the other end, the woman had no idea someone was coming after her and sighed. "Why can't you recognize the situation? Just do as you're told, and I just might spare your parents' lives... or it's going to be our mutually assured destruction."

Aisling paled in fear, unsure what to say just then.

Seeing that, the chief ranger typed on his phone and showed her the screen saying: Keep her talking!

Aisling nodded repeatedly-the chief ranger was right, since Frank was goingnoveldrama

over.

As long as he could find that woman, she still had a chance.

Hence, she asked, "Well, could you be more specific on what I should be doing?"

The woman sorted impatiently. "You're the one who started this entire mess. If you have no idea what you should be doing, who would?"

Aisling chuckled awkwardly, as if she was not sure how she should react to that. "Ma'am, are you kidding me? If I pulled everything uploaded, then it's no different from shooting a guy and leaving a chalk outline!

"Send someone over to be interviewed instead, to refute all the previous claims.

That's the actual way to solve the problem."

The woman was clearly convinced and growled, "Wait for my call."

As soon as she hung up, she called Horace with her other phone, who

frowned after hearing what she had to say. "How long were you talking to her?"

The woman laughed. "Don't worry about it, Mr. Gagne-I've been keeping à constant track on time. It'd take anyone at least twenty' minutes to reach me from that cottage."

"It's just been a minute, and I'm constantly on the move. Listen!"

Holding up her phone, she wound down her window, allowing Horace to hear the rush of wind.

Horace's eyes lit up-he really had not expected such a clever move!

Thank goodness he hired someone as competent as the woman, or there would have been trouble.

"Alright." He nodded. "Tell her that we'll be sending someone-but she must do everything we say.

"If she isn't happy about it, she'd have to reupload another article anyway. And no one must find out, or we will kill her parents.
