Chapter 1314: Persistence
"Hoho? That’s definitely the reason Laufey recommended Dimitri." Leysha smirked.
"Indeed. He somehow sent Dimitri to the Ardagan family and ended up getting captured by the young master. Then Laufey broke everything apart so that Dimitri and Oscar couldn’t get together anymore." Raven nodded.
"So, everything was your plan?" Milfa squinted her eyes.
"Yes. And we’re planning to take responsibility for it." Leysha admitted it without hesitation. Experience more content on NovelBin.Côm
"Madam. That was Laufey’s decision. You were not aware of it before it happened." Silvester frowned.
"Either way, the decision to fight the Supreme Devil Organization was mine and Luke’s decision. Ultimately, it was our responsibility." She shook her head.
"What happened back then? What kind of things did you see?" Milfa asked, while clenching her fists.
"How about you finish your story first?" Leysha smiled playfully.
Milfa bit her lips, but she didn’t seem to have any other choice. "Well… there aren’t a lot of things to say after that…"
…
After hearing the truth from Oscar, the first thing she did was confirm the existence of the orphanage. Oscar turned out to be telling the truth.
Dimitri had been supporting the orphanage with his own money. That was the reason he was always broke. Even everything she had came directly from him.
The moment she realized everything, she couldn’t help but feel guilty.
As young and inexperienced as she was, the plan that came into her mind was a little considerate and selfish.
"Dimitri! Please teach me how to fight!"
Back then, Dimitri was stunned. It looked like he wanted to reject her right away, but he noticed the determination in those eyes.
"You’re getting ahead of yourself. Even if I teach you, there’s no guarantee you can succeed." Dimitri looked away.
Milfa fell to her knees and banged her head on the floor. "Please. Please teach me how to become stronger."
"…" Dimitri halted his step. "Why do you want to become stronger like this? Aren’t you satisfied with your progress right now? Do you think you can get everything just by being greedy?"
Milfa clenched her hands into fists before saying, "To take care of you!"
Dimitri was taken aback. He was completely speechless. Milfa was much younger than him. Even with his status as the leader of the zero squad, there would be a lot of people frowning at his action.
Besides, he didn’t even know why Milfa suddenly had such an idea.
"Did someone hit your head hard and make you dumber?" Dimitri frowned.
"I’m not dumber. You’re the one dumb! You’ve always taken care of everyone, except for yourself. So, who will take care of you? Oscar and Laufey can be your best friend, but no one can take care of you for the rest of your life!"
"So, someone has told you about it. Who is it? Laufey… doesn’t seem likely. So, Oscar. I’m going to beat him up right now!" Dimitri’s face was distorted as though he wanted to beat Oscar up right now.
"Don’t run away. Is this why everything you’ve done has gone unrecognized?" Milfa bit her lips. "I’m going to become stronger… strong enough to become a captain! And I will definitely make you the next commander!"
"You’re an idiot. Know your place." Dimitri harrumphed and walked away without sparing another glance at her.
"Wait. Don’t run—!" Milfa wanted to chase after Dimitri, but she moved too quickly that she tripped to the ground. Of course, she didn’t hit the floor. There was already a shadow that caught her so that she didn’t get injured.
Milfa bit her lips. She stretched her hand, but Dimitri was already gone when she raised her head. The shadow gradually disappeared, putting her down as gently as possible.

Leysha covered her mouth in surprise. "You truly did that after because you felt guilty?"
"Ugh. That’s my embarrassing past. I was immature back then." Milfa clutched her head.
"So, in the end, you didn’t get to become his disciple…" Raven nodded in understanding. "Dimitri was aloof when he first joined us too."
"No. I managed to become his disciple not long after that." Milfa shook her head.
"You did?"
"Yes. I kept following around like a dog. I asked Oscar and Laufey about his location… recklessly. It was until he gave me a condition, which was to awaken my spirit. All the captains in the Demon Banner Army awakened their spirits, so his requirement was for me to awaken my spirit if I wanted to become his disciple."
"I never thought Dimitri would agree. Was he that annoyed?" Silvester frowned.
"Shouldn’t you say hard work pays off? Her hard work in pestering him has paid off, allowing her to become his disciple." Raven waved his hand, denying that opinion.
"This is why you two don’t have a wife." Leysha sighed helplessly. "Dimitri is a very soft person. Also, he is a hidden pervert. Normally, you fall in love on the first sight or marry first and build your relationship later.
"However, Dimitri’s love is like… an acquired taste. After getting used to her presence, he will feel lonely if she’s not there anymore. And that’s when he finally realizes that he has fallen in love." Leysha’s eyes flashed. "Let’s see. Something big happened between you and Dimitri before he ended up giving that condition?"
"How did you know?" Milfa gasped. Her face reddened as if the memory embarrassed her. She shook her head furiously. "No, no. That’s not important. That’s the end of my story. There’s nothing much to say after that. Once I become his disciple, I just keep getting stronger and stronger.
"Sadly, before I managed to become a captain… Laufey had betrayed the Demon Banner Army and Dimitri had disappeared. Without those two, there was no one other than Oscar that could become the next commander, so I ended up becoming a captain under him, in order to find Dimitri, only to discover that he was with you guys.
"That’s all." MIlfa glared at Leysha. "And it’s now your turn to tell me about everything."
What do you think?
