"It's me." Amelia said coldly on the other end of the line. "Bradley, where's Cameron?"
Bradley's frown deepened. "Why? What's it to you?"
Just the mention of Cameron's past engagement with Amelia was enough to sour his mood. He had no interest in wasting his time on her, especially tonight. He'd been in a good mood, until she had to go and ruin it with this call.
Amelia's voice dropped in tone. “I'm warning you. If you dare lay a finger on Cam, you'll regret it. Put Cameron on the phone. Now"
Bradley didn't say a word.
'Threatening me? Not worth the energy.'
He hung up without another word and, for good measure, added Lila's number to his block list too.
Then he leaned back against the headboard, the annoyance already fading. Amelia's outburst was just a blip. What lingered in his mind instead was the feeling of Cameron's shoulder beneath him, the scent that lingered faintly in the air, clean, soft, and natural.
Not cologne. Not detergent. Just Cameron.
'Why does a guy even smell that good? Well, doesn't really matter.'
He smirked and pulled out his phone, dialing Eddie.
It was 11 PM in Viremont. Which meant 10 AM in Montelira.
Eddie was in class.
When he saw the call, he raised a hand, stepped out of the room, and answered with a grin.
"Brad! Missed me already?"
"I need your advice," Bradley said without preamble.
Eddie perked up. "What kind of advice?"
"How do you usually confess to your girlfriends?"
There was a three-second silence on the line. Then Eddie let out a bark of
shocked laughter. "No freaking way. Brad, are you for real? You're actually going to confess to Cameron?"
"Mhm," Bradley replied through his nose.
Eddie practically exploded with laughter. "Oh my God. Oh my God. You're serious!"
Bradley frowned. "Are you going to help or not? If not, I'm hanging up."
"Alright, alright, hold on," Eddie said, finally reigning in his hysterics. He cleared his throat like he was getting into professor mode. "You've come to the right guy. I confess, like, once a week."
Bradley didn't say a word.
'Is that supposed to be impressive?'
Eddie continued, "But Brad, this is different. You're not confessing to a girl. You can't just hand over flowers, a designer bag, and a love letter. You're dealing with a guy. It's not the same formula. Give me a second."
He rubbed his chin, brows furrowed like he was solving ah exam problem.
Bradley stayed quiet, waiting. When it came to relationships, Eddie definitely had the upper hand in experience.
But after a long moment, Eddie still hadn't said a word.noveldrama
Bradley finally cut in, "Take your time. I'm not in a rush. Let me know once you've figured it out."
"Got it," Eddie said quickly, but his mind had already wandered elsewhere.
He was thinking about texting Eric.
There was no way he could keep this to himself.
'Bradley. Is. Confessing. You don't sit on that kind of news.'
Texting wasn't enough. It had to be a call.
So Eddie dialed Eric's number.
Eric didn't pick up.
Eddie frowned and then shrugged.
'No big deal. I'll tell him later. This kind of gossip doesn't expire.'
He chuckled, slipped his phone back in his pocket, and headed back to class.
Meanwhile, Cameron was on her way back to the dorm.
She only noticed all of Amelia's missed calls and barrage of messages when she pulled out her phone to book a ride. Dozens of texts. Several missed calls.
And the time? A little past eleven.
'No wonder they're freaking out.'
Cameron immediately hit the call button.
Amelia picked up on the first ring. "Cameron! Are you okay?"
What do you think?
