Chapter 792
Noticing that Nadine was finally willing to talk to him, Brad felt as if he'd hand over his heart on a silver platter if it would make things right.
"Anything you want, I'll give it to you," he said earnestly. "Even if you want all my assets, I'll give them to you."
He was used to being in a position of power and had never humbled himself. Whenever he made a mistake, he'd always found ways to smooth things over with money. He was prepared to do the same to make it up to Sean.
Nadine abruptly burst into laughter. Brad assumed she had forgiven him and broke into a relieved grin himself. "How much do you want? Just name your price."
Nadine was laughing but abruptly stopped. Tears welled up in her eyes as she glared at him fiercely. "Brad, do you honestly think there's nothing that money can't buy? Do you really think that money can fix someone's broken heart or make someone's illness go away?"
For six long years, she had poured her heart into their relationship, believing that her feelings would eventually be reciprocated. But what did she get in the end? Just a body full of scars.
When they divorced, he nonchalantly said, "I'll compensate you." It made her feel like the six years of pure dedication had all gone to waste. Now, he thought he could make it up to Sean with money. How typical of someone with too much money.
Brad hadn't expected her to react so intensely. He studied her expression and realized she was furious, so he decided not to say anything more. He pursed his lips and looked at her cautiously.noveldrama
His silence helped calm her down a little, but she still couldn't hide the burning hatred in her eyes. "Please leave, Mr. Hamilton. If you don't, I'll take Sean to another hospital." Her heart was as silent as a grave.
Realizing that she was serious about leaving with Sean, Brad refrained from saying anything else. He hurried out of the room, gently closing the door behind him.
17.
He was well aware that Nadine was blaming him in her heart, but he couldn't bring himself to hate her. He knew better than anyone how much she loved Sean. It was precisely for this reason that he despised himself even more.
Why hadn't he listened to her back then? How could he possibly fix this?
Desperate and at a loss, he thought of his friend, Alex. He pulled out his phone and called him for advice.
Alex told him not to push Nadine's limits any further, suggesting he leave and wait for her to calm down before addressing the issue. At that moment, whatever he said would only make things worse.
Evening descended, blanketing the vast sky in a deep, quiet twilight. Night fell once more, enveloping the entire city in darkness. Everything felt strangely eerie and silent.
Nadine stayed by Sean's side the entire time until the IV drip finished. Her gaze never left him, filled with a gentle warmth that she reserved only for her son. Fortunately Sean felt better after he woke up.
"I'm sorry, Mommy. It was all my fault for making you worry. I promise

I won't be greedy again!" He knew he'd messed up and that she'd been there, taking care of him the whole time he was asleep. Guilt gnawed at him, and the moment he woke, he apologized to Nadine.
Nadine stroked his flat belly and asked affectionately, "Does it still hurt?"
Sean shook his head. "It doesn't hurt anymore. I'm all better now. Let's go home!"
Nadine nodded, bent down to pick him up, and got ready to go home. All of a sudden, everything went black.
What do you think?
