Chapter 783
The Hamiltons had been going through a turbulent time lately, with their stock prices fluctuating, impacting the entire group.
From a business standpoint, Sebastian wasn't one to let such a valuable opportunity pass him by. Consequently, he stirred the pot, seizing the chance to his advantage. That said, it was all fair competition-nothing shady like what Lucas would pull.noveldrama
Brad was aware of this and knew that Sebastian had played a role in his family's stock downturn. On top of that, he despised how Sebastian constantly hovered around Nadine, so he held nothing but disdain for him.
When Sebastian approached them, Brad's expression darkened. "Don't you think you should mind your own business, Mr. Caldwell? You know what they say; curiosity kills the cat."
He and Sebastian were hardly friends. Sure, Adam liked him, but Brad couldn't stand him—especially whenever he saw him hovering around Nadine. He wanted nothing more than to ship him back to Chillnada and make sure he never set foot in Janctera City again.
Back when he and Nadine were still married, Brad could use his position as her husband to keep this man in check. But now that they had divorced, he no longer had any grounds to stand on, which only fueled his irritation. The look he shot Sebastian was filled with murderous intent.
Sebastian was a good-natured person. He was unfazed by the animosity in Brad's eyes. He casually adjusted his fishing rod and grinned. "You've got it all wrong, Mr. Hamilton! I'm four years younger than you, so you'll definitely kick the bucket before I do!
"Since you're seven years older than Nadine and I'm just three years older than her, it stands to reason that I'd get to spend more time with her. Also, I think I'm a better match for Nad, so you should really stop clinging to her. It'll only make you look like you can't move on."
For some time now, Sebastian had been pursuing Nadine. Even though he hadn't confessed his feelings, everyone who knew her was aware of his intentions. It was only a matter of time before the unspoken was finally voiced.
The only reason he hadn't confessed his feelings was because he felt the timing wasn't right. Nadine and Brad's divorce was still fresh. Fom someone as emotionally invested as she was, it would take at least three years for her to truly move on.
If he confessed his feelings now, it would only backfire. Not only would he fail to win her over, but he might also end up pushing her away. Thus, he decided to play the long game by reeling her in slowly. He waso confident that with enough patience and sincerity, Nadine would come around and eventually agree to be with him.
As for Sean, he had never considered the child an outsider. The last time Nadine took her son on a trip to Chillnada, Sebastian had been with them the entire time and found himself growing quite fond of the kid.
Back then, he'd thought to himself that if Nadine could divorce Brad and marry him, he would gain a wonderful son for free. Now that Nadine and Brad had finally divorced, it reignited the spark in his heart, and he treated Sean like his own son.
At that point, seeing Sean nestled in Brad's arms, he couldn't help but feel annoyed with Brad. He beckoned to the little one. "Come over here, Sean. I'll teach you how to fish."
Previously, people on the internet claimed that Sean wasn't actually Brad's son, and netizens viciously tore into Nadine. If she had been any less resilient, the cyberbullying could have driven her to terrible things. Thus, Sebastian couldn't help but believe that Sean was not Brad's
biological son.
It had been a few days since Sean had last seen Brad, and he missed him. When
Sebastian called for him, he huffed and said, "I don't want to!"
What do you think?
