My Stand-In Groom Is A Secret Tycoon (Audrey)

Chapter 392

The screen was made of elaborately carved wood with rose embroidery. It had six panels, stood about six feet tall, and was around ten feet wide. The embroidery was handmade, with tiny stitches and tastefully dyed colors.

Audrey gently patted Sunny's head and softly asked, "Sunny, do you like this screen?"noveldrama

Sunny kept his eyes on the screen but shook his head.

Audrey paused, confused for a moment. Then, a sudden thought came to her. She softly asked, "Does Grandma like it?"

Sunny nodded.

Audrey was thrilled. After looking closer at the screen and feeling it was nice and presentable, she asked the shop owner, "How much is this screen?"

The shop owner squinted his eyes. He smiled and said, "If you're interested, I'll give you a reasonable price: 93 thousand."

The price seemed reasonable, not too outrageous. Audrey immediately decided to buy it.

Just as Audrey was about to pay, a stunningly attractive woman suddenly walked in from outside. Standing against the light, the woman pointed arrogantly at the screen and said to the shop owner, "I want this screen."

Noticing that the woman who came in completely ignored her, Audrey felt slightly displeased. She spoke up, "Excuse me, lady, I saw this screen first."

The woman removed her large sunglasses from the bridge of her nose, looking Audrey up and down with a gradually disdainful expression.

The woman thought, 'A poor person dares to compete with me. What an overestimation of herself.' She sneered slightly, smirked, and arrogantly said, "So what if you saw it first? I can pay first and even offer double the price."

Then she pulled out her card and handed it to the store owner, saying, "This card doesn't require a PIN, just swipe away."

Audrey frowned deeply.

The store owner didn't take the woman's card. Instead, he calmly said, "I'm sorry, but this screen was reserved by this lady first. Even if she hasn't paid yet, it's still hers."

He added inside, 'Besides, it's not like she isn't going to pay; she was just about to when you interrupted. In business, people have to follow the first-come, first- served rule.'

The woman's face went rigid. She glared at the store owner and asked, "Are you crazy? Don't you want to make money?"

The store owner gave a faint smile and replied, "I only make the money I'm entitled to make."

Audrey raised an eyebrow slightly, thinking, 'This store owner has quite the character.'

The woman was furious. She glared at the store owner angrily and whispered, "Ungrateful fool, do you know who my husband is? It's your good luck that I fancy something from your shop!"

"No, I don't," the store owner replied calmly, showing the same calmness as if standing firm in a storm.

The woman took a deep breath and

said arrogantly, "You blind fool, my husband is Zachary Oxman, the boss of the antique street. Before you offend me for an ordinary customer, consider your own position."

The store owner blinked in surprise, his expression changing slightly.

Audrey guessed this Zachary probably had quite an influential background. She thought the store owner would cave to the pressure and sell the screen to the

woman.

Unexpectedly, the shop owner stood firm on the principle of first-come, first-served. He firmly stated, "Mrs. Oxman, even if Mr. Oxman himself came today, I wouldn't break the store's rules." en

He gently wayed a fan in his hand. His tone stayed calm but carried an unquestionable authority as he said, "This young lady first selected this screen A gentleman doesn't spoil others' preferences. I'm sure Mr.

Oman would understand."

Zachary's wife, Lily, was speechless. Having dominated the antique street for so many years, she had never encountered a shop owner so out of touch with reality.

She thought, 'He is so stubborn. No wonder his business is the worst on the entire street'
