Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier)

Chapter 432

As Xyla spoke, her sobs evolved into strained gasps. Her pale face turned red gradually, and her lips turned purple.

"Shit. She's having an episode!"

Maryanne spun around. Swiftly, she got to the bed and pressed the emergency call button by the side of the bed.

A series of hurried footsteps could be heard outside the hospital ward. The footsteps came to a sudden stop at the door.

The door swung open.

The first person Maryanne and Lily saw was Xavier. His pupils constricted the moment he noticed the situation in the hospital ward.

He strode toward them, then bent forward and picked Xyla up.

"We're taking her to the ER!" he commanded.noveldrama

The doctors who had just rushed to Lily's ward sprinted toward the emergency

room.

Lily watched as Xavier carried Xyla away.

Maryanne leaned in toward Lily. "Xavier the Hound won't blame us for being merciless, will he? She once saved his life. How are we going to explain ourselves if she dies?"

Hearing that from Maryanne made Lily feel a little unsettled.

Earlier, she had simply been trying to come up with a way to respond to Xyla. She hadn't been trying to piss Xyla off on purpose.

But she had forgotten that Xyla was unwell. If Xyla didn't make it...

Lily couldn't feel at ease.

"Let's check up on her."

Maryanne picked up Lily's cardigan and put it on her. "Let's go."

The emergency room was on the 11th floor. When Lily and Maryanne got there, the door to the emergency theater had just closed.

A nurse was outside, carrying a bunch of consent forms for Xavier to sign while she explained the situation to him.

"The patient requires emergency medical attention. This is the consent form for providing her emergency medical services.

"Mr. Fulton, haven't we told you that

the patient cannot be provoked again? She's in a terrible situation and can no longer take it if her emotions go all over the place again!" the nurse reprimanded.

Perhaps due to the urgency of the situation, the nurse forgot the identity of the

man she was speaking with.

Xavier remained silent as he signed the various consent forms.

Even though he wasn't Xyla's family member or guardian, he was the only one in this world who was close enough to her at this point. Thus, he had to shoulder all responsibilities.

From his side profile, one could see that his jaw was tensed up. The shadows cast on his face by the light overhead accentuated the features on his face.

After Xavier signed all the documents, the nurse gathered all the consent forms.

She said, "Mr. Fulton, I'm sure you're aware of Ms. Lynde's physical condition. We hope for your understanding if we fail to bring her back."

Xavier nodded. He muttered, "Okay."

The nurse entered the emergency theater.

Lily stood around the corner from the emergency theater as she watched Xavier. He was standing upright, staring at the red light above the emergency theater, not moving a muscle.

The look on his face was as grim as ever. In fact, he only had such an expression when something major had happened.

Lily figured that Xavier must be extremely worried. He might be so worried that he could potentially blame her for what happened to Xyla.

Out of curiosity, Maryanne said, "Come to think of it, isn't it strange that Xyla hasn't yet found a heart donor? So many years have passed. Xavier has spent so much to search the entire world for a heart donor for her Even by dumb luck, a donor should have come up for her by now."
