Chapter 383
"Whoa, whoa, whoa..." Grandma Emily nearly lost her breath.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. It was right around dinner time, so it had to be the housekeeper with the meal.
Rose took a moment to gather herself and said, "Come on in."
The housekeeper walked in with a thermal container, set up a little table, and began laying out the dishes. "Ma'am, I've been simmering this chicken soup with cordyceps for five hours on low heat. Please give it a taste..."
"Take it away! I'm not eating it!" Grandma Emily shouted, her voice full of anger. She was speaking to the housekeeper, but her eyes were locked on Rose, smoldering with rage.
Rose gave a slight smirk, picked up her bag, and turned to leave.

Watson had brought Julia to visit Allison. As they pushed open the hospital room door, they were greeted by a lively scene. Olivia and Sabrina had just arrived a few minutes earlier.
Sabrina was playfully showing off a Hermes handbag to Allison. "Sweetheart, I flew all the way to France to get this bag for you. You can't find it here yet. A handbag cures all ills—take this, and you'll be feeling better in no time."
Olivia stood nearby with a Cartier box and smiled, "Allie, this bracelet is for you."
Allison grinned, "Why are you guys bringing gifts? It's not even a holiday."
"We're eager for you to get better and join us for some fun," Sabrina laughed. "Without you, even the male models I hire seem less fun."
Brian's face darkened at that and he gave Sabrina a playful tap on the back of her head. "You're still hiring male models?"
"Ouch, ouch, that hurts," Sabrina pouted, turning to give Brian a playful glare. "I was just joking to liven things up. Why take it so seriously?"
"Because you always know how to push my buttons."
Allison chuckled and noticed Watson and Julia at the door. Her tone softened as she said, "Watson and Julia are here."
Watson led Julia over. Julia handed Allison a bouquet of fresh flowers. "Sister Allison, wishing you a speedy recovery."
Allison took the flowers with a smile and gently patted Julia's head. "Thank you, Julia."noveldrama
"This is for you." Watson extended his hand towards Allison.
In his palm was a bright yellow object, a triangular shape. It looked like a folded charm.
Watson's expression was calm. "A charm from the church."
"The church?" Joy looked at the charm in Watson's hand, surprised. "My mom got one just like it last month."
Watson's lips pressed into a faint line, saying nothing.
Joy glanced up at Watson, her expression curious. "This charm is tough to get. My mom said you have to climb the three thousand steps outside the church at midnight kneeling at each step until you reach the prayer hall, then stay kneeling until sunrise, showing your sincerity before the priest would give you this charm."
No one expected Watson to go to such lengths for Allison. Even as a die-hard fan of the Watson-Joy pairing, Joy felt a tiny shift incher loyalty.
Hearing Joy's description, Allison looked up at Watson. He maintained his gentle demeanor, his eyes behind those gold-rimmed glasses holding emotions she couldn't quite read.
He said he only saw her as a good friend, right? If she was just a friend, why
would he go to such lengths?
Watson remained silent, quietly meeting Allison's gaze.
What do you think?
