Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 251

Heidi was instantly wide awake. The irritation vanished from her expression as she glanced at the time. After a brief pause, she agreed to meet Simon the next

day.

Simon was too excited to sleep that night. By the time he met Heidi the next morning, there were dark circles beneath his eyes.

They met in a private room at a small restaurant.

Simon pulled off his baseball cap, his eyes practically gleaming with anticipation. Lately, his life had been on a downward spiral. Everything had been going wrong. But now, he saw his chance to get back up again and to claim everything that should have been his.

"Where have you been staying?" Simon asked.

Heidi frowned. "I've been retraining in crocheting. Mr. Jovarek ordered me to find out who Shirley was. Now that he knows, maybe I can finally leave."

"Haven't your parents come looking for you?"

"I can't drag them into this!" Heidi snapped. "They just think I'm on a trip with friends. They didn't ask too many questions."

That was why she had been hiding. She was always sneaking around, covering her face with a mask every time she went out. If anyone she knew saw her, she might as well never show her face again.

Simon had only asked out of politeness. He didn't care what Heidi was up to. Right now, he only needed an ally, and Heidi hated Janice. That meant she would help him.

"What's your plan?" she asked.

Simon's answer left her stunned.

"I'm just going to walk right into the Prosper Stitch Group and demand to see her. And if she doesn't agree to my terms, I have other ways to deal with her."

"What ways?"

Simon's lips curled into a cold smile. "I'll send my mom and sister to cause a scene at their entrance."

Heidi's frown deepened. It wasn't that she disagreed with the idea. She was just terrified of Edward. That man would not hesitate to make people disappear if they pissed him off.

Louis had traumatized her enough, and she had no intention of pushing her luck with Edward.

"You should rethink this," she warned. "If you do this and have a falling out with Janice, you'll walk away with nothing."

Simon scoffed. "Walk away with nothing? Are you kidding? She owes me. She owes me too much to just walk away!"

Two days later at Prosper Stitch Group, a soft knock sounded on the office door.

"Ms. Smith, someone's here to see you," Janice's secretary announced.

Janice looked up, and to her surprise, Simon walked in. He was back in an expensive, custom-tailored suit. That was unexpected.

She hadn't thought he could still afford high-end clothing.noveldrama

The truth was, it was an old suit-one from his better days. After getting kicked out of Refined Threads Co., he had barely worn it.

High-end suits required proper maintenance, which wasn't cheap. But today, he put it on again.

Simon strode in, beaming with confidence as he scanned the office with a strangely smug air.

"Ms. Smith, you sure are busy," he remarked, his tone dripping with false politeness. It was his first time seeing her office at the Prosper Stitch Group. The sight of it made his jealousy burn like fire.

But it was fine. Soon, he would have all of this too.

As long as Janice did as he said!

Simon casually sat down like he owned the place. His gaze immediately landed on the glass cabinet behind Janice's desk. Inside, framed certificates and

high-resolution photographs of her

award-winning crochet pieces were displayed.

"Ms. Smith..." her secretary hesitated.

Janice lifted a hand, signaling for her to leave.

"Go handle your work."

With that, the secretary closed the door behind her.

Janice calmly slid open a drawer and placed a few documents inside before turning to face Simon. "If your want to discuss business, you'll need to schedule an appointment in advance."
