Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 248

"There's no rush!" Celine chuckled. "I'll wait as long as you want."

"Alright," Janice replied.

They clinked their glasses one last time. Celine reminded her, "Don't forget to attend the banquet."

"I won't."

Just then, the door to the private room swung open.

Out in the hallway, Simon snapped his head around. His gaze locked on Janice like a predator catching sight of its prey. His eyes burned with intensity.

Janice walked Celine to the hotel entrance and gestured for the driver to take her first.

Celine hugged her briefly before stepping into the car and leaving.noveldrama

Janice's bodyguards stood silently nearby, waiting for her command. But she wasn't in a hurry to leave. She knew that Simon would come looking for her. The moment the thought crossed her mind, hurried footsteps echoed behind her.

She didn't turn around.

Her bodyguards moved immediately, blocking Simon in his tracks.

What caught Janice off guard was that Simon didn't say a single word. He simply fought against them, trying with all his might to break free and get closer to her. The curses she expected to hear never came.

Janice finally turned around.

Simon's face was flushed red, and his bloodshot eyes were locked on her as if he wanted to tear her apart.

"Janice," he said, his voice hoarse and strained.

She stood there, calmly watching him unravel. "Janice!" he called her name over and over again. Just then, a Bentley silently pulled up at the curb.

Harrison hesitated before saying, "Mr. Moore."

Edward glanced at the scene and replied indifferently, "It's fine."

The car window lowered slightly. The street was eerily quiet at this hour, and with

the minimal traffic, every word exchanged was clear as day.

"Janice, you wanted to destroy me from the very beginning, didn't you?" Simon's voice wavered. For the first

voice

time, curses weren't spewing from

his mouth. "For seven years, you kept telling me how much you cared about me. How could you treat me like this? You kept me in the dark for so long. Were you ever sincere to

me?

"You're so damn capable, yet you refused to help me. What the hell were you thinking?"

His bloodshot eyes made him look terrifying.

The two bodyguards held him back, keeping him from taking even a step closer to Janice.

In the spring breeze, she said calmly,

"Every time Refined Threads Co. suffered losses, I joined

competitions to cover the deficits, all for you And what did I get in return? Honestly, I'm relieved I kept this from you. If you had known, you would've drained me dry before I even had a chance to leave. I don't understand why you're so angry."

Her gaze turned cold as she continued, "Sure, I hid it from you. But I never owed you anything. The only reason you're furious is because you've just realized how much more you could've taken from me. You're mad because you thought you were one step away from the big leagues, only to realize I was never yours to use."

She took a step forward, her eyes narrowing. "But Simon, you're able-bodied. Why can't you achieve success on your own? My success is the result of my effort. Why the hell should I hand it over to you?"

Simon's breath hitched. He stared at her, dumbfounded.

"You... You're Shirley..." His voice cracked. "You played me like a fool this whole time..."

He muttered to himself like he was piecing together a puzzle. "You let Heidi pretend to be you. Why didn't you expose her? I wasn't bad to you either. Why won't you give me another chance when you're willing to help Edward?"

Janice had long since grown tired of his endless greed and entitlement. "Because you don't deserve it," she said simply. "Forget forgiveness. It's a waste of my time standing here and talking to you right now."

She was never the type to show mercy. As for those she despised, she didn't hesitate to cut deep. "If anything, I sympathize with the person I once was. How could I have chosen you and wasted seven years of my life on you? Other men celebrate their girlfriends' successes. They encourage them and support them.

"And you? You spent years fearing that I'd surpass you, yet you also hoped I'd be powerful enough to help you climb higher. Simon, the world doesn't revolve around you. And frankly, you're not worth that much to be treated that well."

Her gaze flickered with disdain. "You're nothing compared to Edward."
