Alpha's Second Chance

MADELEINE

Everything is happening so fast it is easy to get dizzy. We came to the camp here yesterday, and now we are standing outside our old packhouse, watching it burn. Inside was everyone who had died, and Dad had told King Logan he wanted this.

I felt Noah coming up behind me, and he put his arms around me. It feels safe being in his arms, but I am still a bit shocked that he is my mate.

'Are you okay?' He asks in mindlink. That is another thing that's different.

Normally, mates can not mindlink before they are marked. But because of who he

is, he can, not that I mind, because it makes me feel closer to him.

'Yes, it is just sad to see our home burn this way.' I tell him back.

'I understand that and would feel the same way.' He tells me, and I lean better into his arms. And we stand here together.

After a few hours, the fire has burned the whole house and the dead

packmembers to ashes. Dad moves to stand so he can see those of our pack that survived.

"This is a heavy day. We lost many loved ones, and for that, I am deeply sorry. We are not many left, but we have been given a new chance. You all know about the king from America and also about the true king. It happens that one of my beloved daughters has this king's mate, and I am very proud of her. The Americans tried everything they could to help and save as many as possible.

I know being here at this place will bring bad memories and sorrow. So I have an offer to you all. King Logan has told me that the lands of an old pack in America were left a few years ago because the Alpha was old and had no heir.

We have been offered a new start there, away from all the pain. I have said yes to this for two reasons. One, I don't want to give up on our pack. You are all family to me. Two, Madeleine will be going there, and as her father, I will feel better being close.

When that is said, I do and will understand if not all of you wish to go with us there. And if that is the case, I have talked with the other packs here in France. And they will be happy to let you join them if you wish to." Dad tells them and waits.

I watch as Alpha Louis talks to his packmembers. When we spoke about his pack moving, he was curious if many would agree. So I saw the surprise was big in his face when they all went on their knees and pledged their honor and submission to their Alpha. Then one stepped forward, an Elder.

"You are our Alpha, our leader, and after you, it will be the young Blaise. We will follow you and your family." He said and spoke for them all.

"Thank you. You are all showing me.

great honor. King Logan has promised to take care of the transportation. I will stay behind here while Blaise goes with the rest of my family to America the day after tomorrow," Louis tells them, and they all bow their heads.

Dad stepped forward next to Louis, and we all waited.

"To see a pack go through a big devastation like this is like

heartbreaking. My son, King Noah. I found Alpha Louis and his family just in time. And we imprisoned the leader behind this attack. And we want to give your Alpha his revenge, and therefore." Dad stops talking for a moment, and Uncle Matt and Enzo bring the rouge leader to where Dad and Louis are standing. noveldrama

"And therefore, Alpha Louis will get the revenge for you all," Dad said and bowed

his head to Louis before walking over to Madeleine and me.

We watched Alpha Louis. Who's aura was now full of anger.

"You don't deserve any words from me or my pack, only death," Louis said, and

claws came forward from his wolf on his hand.

"Will you really kill a man without his last word?" The rouge taunt.

"Yes, I will," Louis responds.

Then he grabs onto the rouge, forces his tongue out of his mouth, and rips off his tongue so now he can't speak.

"I saw what your rouges did to my packmembers to children. So don't think you will have a quick death because you won't." Louis says,

shoves his claws into the eyes of the rouge, and pulls them out.

Madeleine turns around, shielding her face against me. And I can feel she doesn't

like to see her father like this.

Alpha Louis now gives the rouge deep claw wounds all over him. But then he stops.

"May hell burn you slowly." He says and uses a claw to cut open the rouge's neck, and blood runs out of him.

It takes several minutes before his body lies lifeless on the ground in a big pool of blood. But when it is over, Alpha Louis walks away. Matt nods to Dad, confirming that the rouge is dead.

I bend my head down to Madeleine, who still hides her face from seeing what happened.

"Let us go back to the camp, and it is over," I tell her softly, and we leave, walking back to the camp, where I lead her into my tent.
